It appears Chris Bosh’s twitter account is the best news source out there with all of the conflicting reports about him surfacing over the last few days.
Could the missing man be Lebron James? Any time spent together between Wade and Bosh has to be a plus for heat fans.
Or a dinner among friends could have been just that, a dinner among friends.
Regardless, the first monster free agent signing could be coming soon.
The Miami Heat’s meeting with Chris Bosh today in Chicago went well according to the free agent himself. Bosh, via his twitter account, tweeted ‘Off to a great start. First one went well. Pat Riley is very passionate about winning’.
The Miami Herald’s Heat beat writer Michael Wallace tweeted shortly thereafter that Miami did make a contract offer but they did not receive an early commitment.
Although the news is somewhat discouraging after the latest reports yesterday of Bosh to Miami being a “done deal”, it’s no time to panic. Bosh might already know his intentions, but he probably wants to respect the process and hear every team out.
He met with the Houston Rockets last night and will meet with the Chicago Bulls tomorrow.
On a side note, a common misconception is that the Bulls can afford to give both Bosh and Lebron James max contracts. That is impossible unless they unload Luol Deng and his monstrous deal (Deng will make in excess of $50 million over the next four years), which is probably not going to happen.
The Heat on the other hand can offer two max contracts as they currently stand, or three if they unload Michael Beasley and Mario Chalmers.
Pat Riley and crew will meet with Lebron James tomorrow in Cleveland.
