The former Razorback is going to have to really fight for a roster spot in Miami.

The Miami Heat extended their head-count to seventeen today after signing guard Patrick Beverley.

Beverley played the last two seasons overseas and was pretty successful. With Olympiakos last season, Beverley helped his team to a 23-3 record, averaging 4.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists as a reserve, while shooting .581 percent from the field.

He participated with the Heat’s summer league team in Las Vegas and contributed 5.8 points in 24.8 minutes a game. He displayed a great feel defending the point, with excellent lateral quickness and an aggressive mentality. Offensively he looked far less comfortable.

As of now, it is going to be a battle between Kenny Hasbrouk, Beverley, and Shavlik Randolph for the Heat’s remaining roster spot. It would be a shocker if Beverley made the team with how unpolished he is offensively.

Hasbrouck is the best offensive player of the bunch, while Randolph provides the most NBA game experience.
